Ask Wattie: your AI utility assistant

Ask Wattie is the conversational heart of My Wattie. Instead of digging through bills, program websites and notices, renters and homeowners can ask a question in their own words and get a plain-language answer and a clear next step.

What you can ask about

  • Bills — what changed, what a charge means, why a bill is higher.
  • Programs and assistance — what may be available where you live and what you'd need to apply.
  • Outages and emergencies — where to find official updates and what to do next.
  • Home upgrades — heat pumps, insulation, water heating, panels and more.
  • Solar, batteries and VPPs — whether they may make sense for your home.
  • Utility terminology — kWh, tiers, time-of-use, delivery charges and other jargon.

Answers with context

In the app, Ask Wattie can use the context you choose to share — such as your saved bills, home details and location — to make answers more relevant. On this website, Ask Wattie gives general information only and doesn't access any account.

Program Finder

Wattie's Program Finder helps you discover utility assistance, discounts, hardship and medical or disability programs, rebates, energy efficiency, disaster assistance, solar, battery and VPP programs, and financing where applicable. Results are shown as “may qualify,” “may not qualify” or “need more information” — official eligibility is always decided by the program.

Wattie Checkups

Wattie Checkups are designed to help you notice meaningful changes over time — in your bills, programs that may apply, and important energy updates for your home. Checkup features are being rolled out gradually, and Wattie only works with information you provide or that is made available.

What Wattie is — and isn't

  • Wattie helps you understand information and find next steps.
  • Wattie is not a utility company, government agency or emergency service.
  • Program eligibility is determined by the official program or provider.
  • Emergency information should be confirmed with official sources.
